Together they signify the three realms: upperworld, the middle world (earth) and the underworld 

The Blade is also 3 sided where the elongated triangle represents its ability to cut through and transform negative energies. Known as the 3 Poisons, attachment, ignorance and aversion

The two entwined serpents on the blade represent yin and yang, light and dark 

The spiral effect symbolizes an expansion of knowledge as well as the dance of cosmic forces
